On 20.03.1997 Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan was pleased to declare a wing of the Institution as an Adarsha Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya under the relevant scheme of the Ministry, paving the path, thereby, for emergence of a strong centre of excellence of Indological studies in Kolkata.

A fresh move to upgrade the Institution and make it a Campus of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan started in the light of new rules and regulations. In the new effort the duly filled up proforma with detailed enclosures were submitted to Ministry of HRD and fees for the inspection visit of UGC was submitted to UGC.
